Tips when you go to Vietnam

Tips when you go to Vietnam

1,  Time:

For having a long journey through Vietnam, I recommend you should go in the Spring ( February - April). The country is most beautiful in this period of time. Flowers are blooming everywhere. And if you choose to visit at Tet Holiday, you can enjoy the traditonal food and games at Tet but, however, the services at Tet Holiday are more expensive and some of entertaining places are very crowded.

2, Things should bring:
  • - Camera
  • - A Vietnam travel guide book
  • - Medicines
  • - Clothes depend on the weather when you go
  • - Hat
  • - Sunscream and sunglasses
  • - A backpack and a good valise

3, Things should do:
  • - Take a lot of pictures
  • - Enjoy the local foods
  • - Go for a walk around each town you come as much as possible, for example, it will be very pleases to go along the Huong River in Hue at night.
  • - Smile every moments

 4,Things to remember:

  • - Dress modestly and appropriately when visiting local dwellings and religious sites, etc.
  • - Leave your valuables behind before a night out on the town, or going to the beach.
  • - When crossing the road – especially in HCMC – always keep looking to the left and right and walk slowly!
  • - Don't offer money directly to minority people – instead donate to a local charity or offer a small gift, such as pens
  • - However frustrated, don't lose your temper (“losing face”), as it won't get you very far
  • - Always ask permission first before taking photographs, especially in minority areas
  • - Mind your change - the 500,000 and 50,000 notes look similar as does the 100,000 and 10,000 notes.
  • - While most Vietnamese are honest and used to tourists fumbling for the right currency values, a few will actively try to short-change you. Take your time to count the zeroes or you'll unintentionally make someone very happy
